Moinho da Areia means Sand Mill: a carefully restored watermill, estimated to date back to the 16th to 19th centuries, with the earliest documented deed from 1867. Situated on São Miguel’s Monte Verde beach, famous for its surf-friendly waves, Moinho da Areia has been revitalized to feature five suites, a living and dining area, a kitchen, and a terrace. This boutique home reflects the passion of two siblings for preserving Azorean Heritage, blending it with contemporary design, nature-inspired aesthetics, and coastal charm.
